Worship And Devotion Of Rasoolullah
Hafsa, the wife of the Prophet (ﷺ), said:
“Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) used to perform voluntary ritual prayer sitting down , and he would recite the Sura and pronounce it slowly, so that it would seem to be longer than one that was actually longer than it.”
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مُوسَى الأَنْصَارِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مَعْنٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنِ السَّائِبِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنِ الْمُطَّلِبِ بْنِ أَبِي وَدَاعَةَ، عَنْ حَفْصَةَ، زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم، قَالَتْ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ يُصَلِّي فِي سُبْحَتِهِ قَاعِدًا، وَيَقْرَأُ بِالسُّورَةِ وَيُرَتِّلُهَا، حَتَّى تَكُونَ أَطْوَلَ مِنْ أَطْوَلَ مِنْهَا.
