'We used to say before at-Tashahhud become obligatory on us'.

وَلِلنَّسَائِيِّ : { كُنَّا نَقُولُ قَبْلِ أَنْ يُفْرَضَ عَلَيْنَا اَلتَّشَهُّدُ } . [1]
