Hadith 12.2

‘A’isha told of hearing God’s Messenger say, “There is no divorce or emancipation in case of <i>ighlaq</i>." It is said that the meaning of <i>ighlaq</i> is “constraint”. Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah transmitted it.

ARABIC

وَعَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «لَا طَلَاقَ وَلَا عَتَاقَ فِي إِغْلَاقٍ» . رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُدَ وَابْنُ مَاجَه قيل: معنى الإغلاق: الْإِكْرَاه
