Hadith 6.2

Prescribed Punishments

ENGLISH

Abu Sa'id al-Khudri said he had wine belonging to an orphan, and when <i>al-Ma'idah</i> (Al-Qur’an, 5) came down he asked God’s Messenger about it, telling him it belonged to an orphan, but he said, “Pour it out.” Tirmidhi transmitted it.

ARABIC

وَعَن أبي سعيدٍ الخدريِّ قَالَ: كانَ عندَنا خَمْرٌ لِيَتِيمٍ فَلَمَّا نَزَلَتِ (الْمَائِدَةُ) سَأَلَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْهُ وَقُلْتُ: إِنَّه ليَتيمٍ فَقَالَ: «أهْريقوهُ» . رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِيّ
