Game and Animals Which May Be Slaughtered

Ibn ‘Abbas and Abu Huraira said God's messenger forbade the devil’s sacrification. Ibn Isa* added that this refers to the slaughtered animal whose skin is cut off and is then left to die without its jugular veins being severed. *Cf. Abu Dawud, <i>Adahi</i>, 17. Abu Dawud transmitted it.

ARABIC

وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ وَأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ شَرِيطَةِ الشَّيْطَانِ. زَادَ ابْنُ عِيسَى: هِيَ الذَّبِيحَةُ يُقْطَعُ مِنْهَا الْجِلْدُ وَلَا تُفْرَى الْأَوْدَاجُ ثُمَّ تُتْرَكُ حَتَّى تَمُوتَ. رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُد
