'A'isha reported:

I heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: The hand (of a thief) should not be cut off but for a quarter of a dinar and what is above that.

‏ لاَ تُقْطَعُ الْيَدُ إِلاَّ فِي رُبْعِ دِينَارٍ فَمَا فَوْقَهُ ‏
